2018 NPGL Bat Standards Summary:
7U-12U bats must all have a USA Baseball stamp
13U must all have USA stamp with a maximum drop of -8 or BBCOR stamp -3 drop
14U must all have USA stamp with a maximum drop of -5 or BBCOR stamp -3 drop
Bat Protest Procedure:
Teams wishing to protest the suspected use of an illegal bat must notify the umpire prior to the following batter entering the batter's box. Once the first pitch to the next batter has been thrown a bat protest will no longer be accepted by the umpire or league.
Result of a Successful Protest:
First Infraction: A successful protest as confirmed by the umpire will result in both 1) A warning of the player committing the first infraction and 2) A warning of the manager of the infracting team. The protesting team can then choose to accept either an automatic out or the result of the play.
Second Infraction: Upon a second infraction within the same game 1) The manager will be ejected from the game, 2) The player will be called out, and 3) The player will lose his/her next turn at bat, resulting in an automatic out.
Players and Managers participating in NPGL Baseball who are found to have committed multiple infractions will have their participation reviewed by the NPGL rules official and may face game suspensions or expulsion from the league as deemed appropriate.
